we're very happy and proud to reveal the release date for We Are The Others! Please read below the official press release:

Dutch symphonic rockers, DELAIN are set to release their third album, 'We Are The Others' on the first of June (Benelux, Germany) and the 4th of June (UK and France) through CNR Entertainment and Roadrunner Records. The lead single, 'Get The Devil Out Of Me' hits stores on 13th April (April 15th for UK) to coincide with the start of their European tour.

Fronted by the fiery-tressed Charlotte Wessels, DELAIN is the brainchild of keyboardsman, Martijn Westerholt. The band spent most of last summer with the Tripod production squad; Jacob Hellner (Rammstein, Apocalyptica) and the Epicentre team, Fredrik Thomander and Anders Wikström (Scorpions, Backyard Babies) in Hellner's Stockholm studio, taking two months to collectively fine-tune the material for 'We Are The Others'. Martijn states "They pushed each of us to our absolute limit and in many cases beyond! They really knew how to get the maximum out of us individually, out of Delain as a band and of course out of our songs." And indeed, the album is laden with musical hooks on tracks like 'We Are The Others', 'Are You Done With Me', or 'Where Is The Blood'; a powerful and emotive duet featuring Fear Factory frontman, Burton C. Bell.

The album's title track is an anthem for outsiders, with the lyrics being inspired by the hate crime against British girl, Sophie Lancaster in 2007. Sophie and her boyfriend were beaten comatose by a gang of youths, simply because of their goth look. She later died from her injuries (more info at http://sophielancasterfoundation.com) and the tragedy sent shock waves around the world. Charlotte states "Sophie's story hit close to home for us, being part of a subculture ourselves, but it's in no way an individual case. People are discriminated against all the time, to the point of violence, based on their cultural or ethnic background. 'We Are The Others' is our own 'outsiders anthem' for everybody who, deliberately or not, diverts from the norm. Whether by looking different, acting different, or choosing a different path in life than is expected from you."

"Getting 'We Are The Others' recorded has been a challenging process," continues Charlotte. "However, I'm absolutely sure that it forced the best out of us. I'm in love with so many of the tracks on this record! Our fans have shown massive support in the run up to the release. Thank you all so much for that! Now that we've got the date fixed and this great new team behind us, I can't wait to get onstage and blow your minds with our new songs. You rock!!"

Until now that was not possible, but recently we received a huge reinforcement in the band. Guitarist Bas Maas is joining in our group to relief Timo for some shows this year. Some of you may know Bas from Doro or his previous band After Forever. We want to give Bas a warm welcome in Delain. He will join us at our European tour, and a couple shows this spring. As you might expect from us this album again offers some interesting collaborations, both in musical and visual terms. This record features none less then Fear Factory shouter Burton C Bell as a guest singer, and visual artist Glenn Arthur provided the cover artwork.

Next to the title track We Are The Others, the track listing below also reveals the song "Where Is The Blood" featuring Burton C Bell. We met Burton at the Wacken Open Air festival a year ago and stayed in touch afterwards. When we were working on "Where is The Blood" we didn't hesitate to contact him for cooperation. He's done such an amazing job on the song turning the song into a most violent duet; his exceptional, raw voice fits perfectly to this song!

The cover artwork was created by Glenn Arthur, a  California based visual artist whose work is inspired by art nouveau design and steampunk imagery.
 Charlotte is a big admirer of Glenn’s work and she dedicated multiple blogs to his art. "From the first time I saw his work I've been imagining it as cover artwork; something in the way his work is both esthetically very delicate, but always with a dark undertone, fits our music very well" For the artwork of We Are The Others, we gave Glenn the lyrics to the song as inspiration. We’re incredibly happy with how the cover turned out. For more info on Glenn Arthur, check out his facebook.

After a highly successful European Tour, followed by the enthusiastic reaction to DELAIN's North/South American Tours – it´s clear that the pure energy of their live performances have heavily influenced the new material on their long awaited third long player. Delain have taken the time needed to hone this to perfection and the outcome: We Are The Others – is the most powerful, most atmospheric and intoxicating DELAIN album to date.

The band spent most of last summer with star producer Jacob Hellner (Rammstein, Clawfinger, Apocalyptica ...) in his Stockholm studio, taking two months to collectively fine-tune the material for We Are The Others.

“Never before have we gone as much into detail in writing the songs" Charlotte reports, referring to the multiple writing-session on songs and lyrics in Stockholm, where she was recording her vocals parallel in a second studio with the vocal producers of the Epicentre team around Fredrik Thomander (Scorpions, Backyard Babies).

Already with their previous album “April Rain”, Delain successfully established themselves at the top of a genre, comparable to bands like EVANESCENCE, HIM or UNHEILIG, and of an ever growing and exciting mainstream market of dark tunes DELAIN is now an integral part of. Accordingly, the expectations of the fans and the band itself were pretty high after the critically acclaimed "April Rain" album.

Expectations that DELAIN meet and even surpass with “We Are The Others” as if it were the most natural thing. Thus, the band has long outgrown the niche - Delain have developed and advanced with their new material but on the other hand have remained loyal to their own sound. At first glance some song titles on We Are The Others may sound mysterious and conspiratorial, but there is a very serious background: The lyrics to the title-track were inspired by the hate-crime against a British girl named Sophie Lancaster in 2007. As Delain are finishing the songs for their upcoming album, it’s time to share the news about the long awaited record.
The band is in the middle of the recording process for their currently untitled album. It will be produced by Jacob Hellner, renowed for producing Rammstein, Clawfinger and Apocalyptica, alongside the Epicentre team of Frederick Thomander and Anders Wickstrom (Scorpions, Kim Wilde, No Angels, Backyard Babies, N’Sync). Some of you eagle eyed fans might have spotted them in recent studio report photos. As always, our musical partners Guus Eikens and Oliver Phillips are also part of the team again. When Delain have finished all songs for the upcoming record they will, together with this talented team, make sure that Delain’s third offering sounds nothing less than massive. The recordings are taking place in several studios in Stockholm.

The band states:
“After loads of touring activities and some turmoil with the record company, it’s great to finally be in the process of getting the album together. More so in such legendary places with people involved in such legendary records. We’ve written some killer material and these are best possible circumstances to make it come to life”
